What we collect, and what we do not
This site runs no third party analytics, serves no advertising, and sets no tracking pixels. It does not store your IP address. What it does collect is listed below in full, because a privacy notice that claims more than the code does is worth nothing.
Who is responsible
Astax Discovery Network is operated by Astax Labs, the United Kingdom. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, write to hello@plxyro.com.
Everything that is stored
| A session identifier | A random value in a first party cookie named adn_sid, set when you follow an outbound link. It ties repeat visits together so we can count visitors rather than page loads. It is not linked to your name and is not shared. |
| Country | A two letter country code supplied by our content delivery network. Country only. Not a city, not a region, and not derived from anything we store. |
| Pages and outbound clicks | Which pages were viewed and which outbound links were followed, with the referring site where the browser sends one. This is how we know which entries are useful. |
| Your email address | Only if you type it into the newsletter form. Stored with the country code and the page you signed up from, plus tokens for confirming and unsubscribing. Nothing else. |
| Your AI / NO AI choice | Kept in your own browser under adn_mode so the site opens in the mode you last used. This never reaches our server. Clearing your browser data removes it. |
What is deliberately not stored
Your IP address is read when you submit the newsletter form and is used, in memory only, to stop the same address submitting more than five times a minute. It is never written to the database and never leaves the running process. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no session recording, no fingerprinting, and no profile built about you.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Counting visits and clicks is done under legitimate interests: it is the minimum needed to know which entries earn their place, and it holds nothing that identifies you personally. Your email address is held on consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming the address, and which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
How long
Session and click records are kept for 24 months, which is long enough to compare a year against the one before it. Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe, and are deleted within 30 days of that.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider processes requests on our behalf and our email provider delivers the newsletter. Neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes. When you follow an outbound link, the destination site is a separate company with its own privacy notice, and where that link is an affiliate link the merchant is told that the visit came from us. They are not told who you are. See the affiliate disclosure for how that works.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us holding it. Write to hello@plxyro.com and we will answer within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
This notice describes the site as built. If the code changes, this page changes with it.
